AnchorCert has a fully equipped diamond grading laboratory located within the Birmingham Assay Office building. The industry leading state-of-the-art gemmological instruments range from the tried and tested 10 x diamond magnification lens to the sophisticated Raman spectrometer. Continuing technological Investment keeps the laboratory at the forefront of diamond grading in the UK: the most recent investment has been the highly specialised GIA software enabling AnchorCert to add the new ‘Cut Grade’ to its Full Diamond Certification Report. All stones sent to AnchorCert are screened to ensure they are natural. The Laboratory is able to detect and identify synthetic diamonds and HPHT treated stones as well as enhancements ranging from laser drilling and fracture filled stones to colour treated diamonds.

The Mini Report

This is a highly popular and competitively priced Report.  It succinctly presents the Diamond characteristics in a simple credit card format and also includes a digital colour photograph of the stone or piece of jewellery.  A Mini Report is suitable for both loose and set diamonds.  The details recorded include:  Description, Weight, Measurements, Colour, Clarity, Shape and Cut.

The Full Report – THE DIAMOND REPORT

The Full Report from AnchorCert is known as “The Diamond Report”.  It is a comprehensive technical report recording the following information: Description, Weight, Measurements, Colour, Clarity, Symmetry, Polish, and Fluorescence, Girdle description, Shape and Cut.  The report also outlines details of the facet angles and proportions of the diamond.  All Inclusions are plotted on the facet diagram thus uniquely identifying the stone.  The Diamond Report provides where appropriate the Proportion Table for Fancy Cuts and the new GIA “Cut Grade” scale and side elevation diagram for modern round brilliant cut diamonds.  This report is only suitable for loose stones.

Verification and Security
The benefits of a Certificated Diamond provide both retailers and customers with complete confidence.  To ensure that the stone belongs with the Certificate. AnchorCert offers two services; Laser Inscription or Sealed Certificated Diamonds.  Either service can be supplied in conjunction with both the Full and Mini Report.

Laser Inscription
AnchorCert offers the only facility in the UK for the Laser Inscription of Diamonds. The Report number can be inscribed onto the girdle of loose or claw mounted diamonds.

Sealed Certificated Diamonds
An AnchorCert Diamond can be packaged into a sealed card that cannot be opened without voiding the security of the seal.
